A one-page brief that helps us start your build faster
The better we understand your store, the sooner your automation goes live. This brief collects everything we would otherwise ask over several emails, in the order we need it, and takes most owners about thirty minutes.
- About thirty minutes
- Copy it, fill it in, send it
- Fewer questions later
Five things it does for your project
A good brief is the cheapest way to save time on a build. These are the benefits, in the order you will notice them.
It shortens the start
Our delivery window starts when your brief is complete, so a complete brief starts the clock sooner.
It saves back-and-forth
Everything we would ask over several emails is in one place, so we can begin straight away.
It sharpens the result
Specific rules and a clear voice mean the first draft is close to what you wanted.
It protects your brand
Telling us what the automation must never say or do keeps it safely inside your limits.
It aligns your team
Writing down who approves, who grants access and when they are available avoids delays later.
It is reusable
Keep the finished brief and reuse its store sections for every later service you order.
Copy this brief and fill it in
Press the button to copy the whole template, paste it into any document or message and answer what you can. Leave anything you are unsure about blank.

Six habits that make a brief great
- 01
Be specific
Write numbers, dates and names instead of adjectives. “Reply within one hour” beats “reply quickly”.
- 02
Link to things
Paste links to your store, your policies and any page that shows what you mean. A link says more than a paragraph.
- 03
Point to what you like
Two emails, pages or replies you admire tell us your voice faster than any description.
- 04
Say what is off limits
List the offers, claims and phrases the automation must never use. It is the fastest way to stay on brand.
- 05
Name who decides
Say who approves wording, who grants access and who to ask if the first person is away, so no step waits on an unanswered message.
- 06
Share your numbers
Add the figures you already know, such as monthly orders and average order value, so we size the build to the real volume.
Before you start writing
Do I have to fill in the whole brief?
No. Fill in what you can, and leave the rest blank. We ask follow-up questions about anything we need, and the brief is a starting point rather than an exam.
Where do I send the finished brief?
Paste it into the notes field of the quote form, send it through the contact form or upload it as a file on the file upload page. After you order, add it to your client portal.
Should I include passwords or API keys?
No, never. The brief is for information about your store and your goals. Access is requested separately through your client portal, as the security page explains.
How long should my answers be?
A line or two for each is plenty. Specific details, such as a number, a date or a link, help far more than long paragraphs.
Can I use the same brief for several services?
Yes. Sections one, three, five and six stay the same, and you only change sections two and four for each service.
What if I do not know my numbers?
Write an honest estimate. A rough monthly order count is enough, and we can refine it with you once we see your store.
Can I send the brief as a document?
Yes. Upload it through the file upload page or paste it into a quote request, whichever is easier.
Who reads the brief?
The person who will own your project reads it in full. It is never used for anything except planning your build.
Can I update the brief after I send it?
Yes. Send the changed section with your order reference and we update the plan, adjusting the date if the change is large.
Do I need a separate brief for each automation?
Reuse the store sections and write a fresh automation section for each service, as the tips above suggest.
